India Achieves Highest-Ever Rank in UN SDG Index 2026 at Hamburg Sustainability Conference

India climbed to 94th place (from 99th in 2025) in the UN SDG Index 2026, recording its best-ever score of 68.3/100 since the Sustainable Development Goals were adopted in 2015. The index was released at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2026 on June 29, reflecting gains in clean energy, healthcare, and poverty reduction — though hunger and nutrition remain persistent challenges.
