I am targeting bank PO exams and confused between IBPS PO and SBI PO. Which is more competitive? Which gives better salary and growth? Should I attempt IBPS PO first for practice or directly target SBI PO? How different are the exam patterns?

SBI PO is generally tougher (higher cut-offs, descriptive paper, group exercise + interview), IBPS PO slightly more predictable. Attempt IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk for practice and as backups, but prep specifically for SBI PO since its bar is higher — if you can clear SBI, IBPS follows. SBI also offers faster growth.
Patterns are similar in Prelims; the big differences are SBI PO descriptive (essay+letter) and the GE/PI round. Budget time for those.
