How many hours should I study daily for State PCS preparation?

I see aspirants claiming to study 14+ hours daily but I start losing focus after 6-7 hours. Is quality or quantity more important? What is a realistic daily study target for clearing a State PCS exam in the first or second attempt? How do toppers structure their day?

Quality beats quantity every time — 6-7 focused hours with active recall and revision beats 14 distracted hours. The 14-hour claims are mostly survivorship bias. Aim for 7-9 genuinely focused hours, track output (topics covered, answers written) not just clock time, and protect sleep.

Use the Pomodoro structure if focus drops after a few hours. Two 3-hour deep blocks + one lighter block is sustainable for a year-long grind.
