India-Israel Bilateral Investment Agreement Enters Into Force: First OECD Pact Under 2015 Model BIT
The India-Israel Bilateral Investment Agreement (BIA), signed on 8 September 2025, entered into force on 4 July 2026, making Israel the first OECD member to conclude an investment pact under India's 2015 Model BIT framework. The treaty offers investment protection while preserving the state's right to regulate and requires exhaustion of local remedies before international arbitration. Delhi EV Policy 2026 (EV Policy 2.0): Zero-Emission Push, Subsidies, No Hybrids
The Government of NCT of Delhi notified the Delhi EV Policy 2026 (Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0), a zero-emission transport push that excludes hybrids and offers phased purchase subsidies of about Rs 30,000 for e-two-wheelers and Rs 50,000 for e-three-wheelers in Year 1. Notified on and effective from 1 July 2026, it supersedes the Delhi EV Policy 2020 and sets EV-share and charging-infrastructure targets to cut vehicular air pollution. Pashujanya Yudh Abhyas: India's One Health Mock Drill Tests Zoonotic Outbreak Readiness
India conducted Pashujanya Yudh Abhyas (PYA), a five-day national mock drill at Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, simulating an Influenza A (H1N1) outbreak in animals under the National One Health Mission. It was the third national-level mock drill under the Mission, testing inter-agency surveillance, containment, culling and vaccination logistics, and zoonotic-spillover response. Relevant for UPSC, UPPSC, MPSC and other state PSC aspirants in GS Paper 2 (Governance, Health) and GS Paper 3 (Science, Security, Disaster Management).
- Pashujanya Yudh Abhyas (PYA) was a five-day national mock drill held 29 June to 3 July 2026 at Khari village, Vidisha district, Madhya Pradesh.
- PYA was the third national-level mock drill conducted under the National One Health Mission, simulating an Influenza A (H1N1) outbreak in animals with spillover potential.
- It was led by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
