Posts and Vacancies — 607 Seats
RPSC RAS 2026 advertises 607 vacancies split across two categories: 192 posts in State Services and 415 posts in Subordinate Services. State Service posts include: Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS), Rajasthan Police Service (RPS), Rajasthan Accounts Service, Rajasthan Cooperative Service, and Rajasthan Food & Civil Supply Service. Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from any recognised university or equivalent
- Age Limit: 21 to 40 years for General category (as of January 1, 2027)
- Age Relaxation: OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) +3 years; SC/ST +5 years; Women (General) +5 years; PwBD +10 years
- Nationality: Indian citizen; Rajasthan domicile required for most subordinate service posts
- Application Fee: ₹600 for General/Creamy Layer OBC; ₹400 for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD
Exam Pattern — Prelims
RPSC RAS Prelims is a single-paper screening test: 200 objective questions, 200 marks, 3 hours duration. The Prelims covers General Knowledge and General Science — including History (Rajasthan and India), Geography, Polity, Economy, Science & Technology, Reasoning, and Current Affairs. Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer; no penalty for unattempted questions. Prelims is purely qualifying — marks do not count in the final merit.
Exam Pattern — Mains
RAS Mains consists of 4 descriptive papers worth 200 marks each (total 800 marks), each with a 3-hour duration. Paper I: General Studies I (History, Geography, Culture). Paper II: General Studies II (Economy, Polity, Public Administration). Paper III: General Studies III (Science & Technology, Reasoning, Data Interpretation). Paper IV: General Hindi and General English (combined). The Interview carries 100 marks. Final selection merit: Mains (800) + Interview (100) = 900 marks total.
